[Dailydrool] pills

As a country kid I was taught by the vet to give dogs meds the way Bev described - except hold the muzzle shut and elevated and stroke the throat.
Nowadays I try putting it in a treat, or hiding it in their food, but if the pill is spat out or left (as happened a few times with Clara last week) then I revert to the country vet method. It doesn't fail and I have never seen a dog stressed by it, so long as it is done calmly, firmly and kindly. Of course, if the dog has previously been in an abuse situation, maybe that could be different.
To me, the important thing is getting the dog well.
Drool to all - I hope Llewis' tummy flames are out now. And Happy Birthday to Morse for Monday and Rolph for last Saturday. He got a roast beef dinner (no gravy).
Sally, with Rolph (I'm five now) and Clara, UK
