<<As far as bites of any kinda I always head to the doc and get Augmentin.
Flushing out is good but sometimes that can be hard to do with puncture
wounds. I heard of a mobile vet in Philly whose once client was bit by her
cat. The vet told the owner to go to the doctor but she kept putting it off.
The owner died of septicemia. Very sobering stuff.
The last time I tried to go to the doctor for a dog bite, I was told I had
to go to the Emergency Room. Maybe this is just a New Jersey thing, but
that's where they evidently have to send you.
According to my primary care doc, cat bites are worse than dog bites because
of one bacteria they carry that dogs don't seem to. Fortunately, though my
cat tries to nibble on me, he does not break the skin. Abner, on the other
hand, is getting himself a real reputation here.
