[Dailydrool] Chilly Weather: OEBE Morse on the Rampage

It has got cold here in the UK and Morse has been at his worst.  His normal high interest in cat turd has reached a peak over this week, with his interest reaching fever pitch.  Every day his walks centre around scavenging.  We start at the local store and the car park, then onto the green and the duck pond, then down a long lane until we reach 2 fields before we get home. Today he has scored about 3 cat turds, a segment of a dog turd (nobody's eating their dinner are they?), a prawn sandwich crust, part of a pork pie and has been dragged (literally) away from everything else.  His latest trick is to yelp loudly when I try and drag him off something, if he is off the lead.  I have to grab his neck as we gave up with collars - as soon as they are pulled they slip straight over his head - and the noise he makes is unbelievable.  It sounds like I am hurting him, so I stop, and he just breaks free and runs back to mischief again. I don't believe it
hurts at all, he just does it to get me to release him.  And yesterday - he has never, ever done this before - he counter cruised.  We went over to friend's hous and she has 2 dogs and about 8 cats.  She leaves a lot of their food bowls out on the kitchen work-tops, and hey presto Morse took a flying leap at them in an attempt to score a bowl of food.   I am presuming the fact that we don't have cats and leave food about is why he has never bothered counter cruising at home.  The walk was rounded off tonight by Morse suddenly turning heel as we were almost home and galloping back to a hedge that I had pulled him away from only 2 minutes earlier.  I think I saw a neighbour sniggering as I furiously poked my head into the hedge, muttering obscenities.  *sigh*.  It's going to be a long winter.

Becky (wearily colouring hair before more grey arrives), Morse (catching up on beauty sleep to re-charge for tomorrow's find-the-turd) and Pumbaa ATB (*blench*. He's so unrefined)
