[Dailydrool] Millie and Macy

Macy, our new basset puppy is 8 weeks old tomorrow.  We brought her home
Monday.  Millie is our 10 year old basset and is truly the best dog in the
world!   Millie is a typical geriatric 10 year old basset with degenerative
disk disease.  As previously posted, we decided to get a new puppy now so
that a new puppy could learn from Millie's positive attributes - because as
I said, she truly is the BEST dog in the world. Macy loves Millie and wants
to be next to her all the time - Millie however, doesn't want much to do
with Macy.  She growls at Macy and lets her know she does not want any of
her 8 week old puppy antics.
Macy is doing pretty good - she seems to be catching on to the house
training routine - and she is just a joy to have around.  We'll just be glad
when she begins to sleep through the night. We are empty nesters... near
geriatric ourselves...
and even Millie is losing sleep because of Macy's puppy sleep schedule.
We are hoping that Millie will settle in with Macy -
any suggestions?
