Hi,
At 61 years old, i adopted the first dog i've ever had, a 3 yr old basset named Gus.  he came into my life 3 1/2 weeks ago and i'm in heaven, as is he.  he had been in several homes with other dogs, and with Gus, that will not do.  so now he's king of the house and loving every minute of it.  he's the most laid back and happy thing you can imagine.  But he has one quirk and i wondered if you all could shed some light on it:  given the chance, he'll eat his poop.  so i can't let him out without being next to him and i'd like to let him out in the yard more often, for longer periods.  i read that lemon juice or hot sauce poured over it will do the trick, but if i'm going to do that, i may as well pick it up (which i do, but not until he goes in the house).  any ideas how to break the habit?  i love this dog so much, i can't believe i've lived this long without him.  he's such a mensch!
