For those out-of-towners like us who are planning on going but have  
waited until the last minute to make their La Quinta reservations,  
the deadline for the basset rescue rate has passed. However, when I  
called the motel just a couple minutes ago, I was able to get a  
double for just $49. I believe the king was in the neighborhood of  
$55. And this La Quinta has a great breakfast and lovely fenced-in  
courtyard (if it doesn't rain).
