This will need to be brief, but wanted to give the a..m. update.....

News services are reporting clouds rolling in and moisture - possibility of RAIN - my immediate thought is - the Drool being slung is arriving!! Thank you oh great Droolers - and the Houndie Bridge Team who moves that great atmospheric drool to those in need.

Today the smoke is very close to the ground - it's not unworkable - but oh the toll on the lungs! Furbabies will be annoyed today as play time will be limited - esp. for the seniors.

Fire department is mapping and assessing containment this morning - you guys may have that info before we do - for those who called asking abut various other rescue groups in the area, let me just report this.....

Spoke with Linda Blair yesterday - she's only a couple of miles from us and is holding her own - it's hard working normal routines while checking fire lines every few moments.... she's holding her own, still on site and holding up fairly well considering.

Yes, Tippi Hedrens Shambala is the exotic sanctuary who decided not to evac as they would shut down Soledad for many hours in moving the animals off the property - they are staying and fighting.

Rumor has it that DELTA also is staying and fighting, its hard to know for sure as we have no direct communication with them - but we do have friends who are in close contact with Leo.

Villalobos and Tia and the gang are to the west of us - smoke yes, possible fire line? Very unlikely.
Nancy and The Brittany Foundation - same situation - reminds me to talk to Nancy today as a matter of fact

Second Chance - they are to the west of us by one road, and all appears to be in the same situation as we are.

Animal Acres evacuated yesterday and as of last night, all farm animals were out safely.

As most regular update people know - I randomly remember things and throw them in - I have to tell you - I've been in and out of tears over the kindness of the hounds friends - Dr. Young Kim, our amazing vet called yesterday - offering any assistance he could - even to his office manager assisting at the evac location - Debbie - you are indeed a true angel right here on earth. Know how much your dedication to the babies means to those of us in the trenches. Without your team - we would not exist. THis amazing vet and staff constantly bring me to my knee's.

And with that folks - I must run - I'm late for the hounds - and that means I will be told off - in no uncertain terms I assure you. 96 Hounds - a sweet little lady basset is being picked up and fostered by the Strachans for a few days today - she found herself abandoned at Lancaster shelter - she was spayed yesterday and will be very happy for loving hands to cuddle away her woes -

The drool prayers are working as always - keep them coming!

Dawn and the entire gang of
Barni at Daphneyland - the home of happy hounds.

We are currently facing the Station FIre - email will be forwarded to the appropraite volunteer, please be patient.
