Pierre Sr is my first. The other hounds all passed while Dad was still alive, and he handled the remains in his own way. I find it really hard to be grown up at the age 52, but since my parents were older than most when I was born, I was allowed to be free from the "hard" decisions for a long time. My sister passed all the "adult" responsibility to me, even though she is elder, and since Pierre Sr belonged to my heart more than she, I had to decide. My choices were to take him home to bury in the yard, take him to the pet cemetery, or cremation, either private or group, but only with private would I get his ashes back. That is what I decided to do, and since I have to rewrite my will, I will instruct for my cremation and to blend my ashes with the hounds, and hopefully, there will be an eco-friendly place we can be scattered, hopefully in an ocean or water of some kind. I have a mini shrine for Pierre now, and the facility sent Pierre home in a lovely canister, not a bag. I am amazed how heavy it is. OK, too much, crying now.
