[Dailydrool] gus's recovery

i first want to thank each and every one of you who have written me with  
concern, advice and drool; it means so much to us.
i must say that most of you suggested that his withdrawal from anesthesia  
is likely to have been the cause of his crying all night last night and now 
i  tend to agree.  he's had quite a normal day today.  eating his kibble  
mixed with warm water, getting cheese treats (have never given him cheese, 
he's  loving it), bouncing down the 5 stairs to the yard to pee, jumping up on 
the  couch if i'm on it (for more belly-rubs) and snoozing on his favorite  
chair.  i gave him the rimadyl this morning in a pill pocket and he chewed  
it right up.  i'm working from home today but hope to be able to catch a  
nap later on and i'm sure he'll be squished up on the bed right along side of  
me.  
once again, thanks so much for your notes; as all of you know, our drool  
family is so comforting to all of us.  i had to write my lengthy tale this  
morning because i had to share it with people who would understand the horror 
of  a baby in distress, whereas, if i wrote that lengthy narration to my 
friends,  they'd be thinking, "we've got to get her out for a cocktail; she 
needs less  dog-time and more human time."
