[Dailydrool] new puppy

We haven't done puppy for such a long time, so I am wondering if  this is 
anything to be worried about. Our baby girl is 17 weeks old, we got her  two 
days ago. She drinks a whole lot of water, and obviously has many accidents  
because we had no idea she would need to go this often. Is it normal for 
her to  be sooo thirsty????  She even had an accident in her playpen while 
standing  on her back legs waiting to be picked up! Is this normal???
 
Also, I was wondering. She is really, really long.  We have  had two other 
Bassets and neither was this long. She almost looks dachshund like  in 
length, but she really looks all Bassett. We have papers on her, but her  
background is very sketchy.
