[Dailydrool] Ghosts

When we lost our Sadie Mae to lymphoma in 2006, I could swear I heard her at
night moving from room to room. She was restless a lot at night and
frequently changed beds. I could hear her nails clicking on the hardwood
floor. It last about two weeks then I didn't hear it anymore. I mentioned it
to Sandy Gaston and she said the most comforting thing - she said of course
you heard her, she was coming back to check on you and to make sure you were
going to be ok.Two weeks after she passed away, we found Homer to adopt. I
think once she saw that the houndie she sent to me to adopt was home she
felt she could go on. I can't even write this without crying!!

I had a really cool kitty named Bertie that disappeared and I never knew
what happened. He always wore a belled collar. I swore I could hear him for
nearly a year out by the front door jingling his bell. I would run to the
door but he was never there. I think he was watching over me too for awhile
to make sure all was well. He was a fierce defender of his yard and I think
he wanted to keep a lookout to keep us safe.

I believe that spirits walk amongst us and I know that I would welcome my
little dog and kitty "spirits" to come home again with all my heart.
