Yesterday I walked my daughter with Henry to her friends house a few blocks away from our home. As we were walking, a man pulled over the side of the road and stopped to tell me what a beautiful basset hound Henry is and went on to tell me that he is owned by two seniors that he rescued from Tri-State Basset Rescue. One is 15 and the other one is around the same age. He goes to the Boardwaddle in Ocean City every year. My daughter's friends mother was standing outside at the time telling me that this was the man she was telling me about that she grooms all the time.(She's a professional pet groomer and has her own thriving business.) He came over and made a hugh fuss over Henry which he LOVED to say the least and told me that he lives in Norwood, Pa which is literally 5 minutes from us. I asked him if he was aware of the dailydrool and said he was and went on to say that bassets are the best dog in the world and left.
Then this past Friday, I was at the Vet's picking up Henry's Frontline and Interceptor, when there was a woman behind me picking up scripts for her dogs as well. We began to talk and I told her I have a basset puppy and she told me she has 2 bassets! She was telling me how she has to put her male to bed every night by laying in the bed with him on top of her (72 lbs.) with his head in between her boobs until he falls asleep, then she can roll him off of her. She said that if she doesn't put him to be like that, he will howl at the top of his lungs until she does. She said he's so bad! I got hysterical! She then told me how her female is great! She said that she would never have anything but bassets! I told her about the dailydrool which she never heard of and told me she'd look it up at work.
So two in 2 days all in the same area!
You know, it's funny, Henry plays with his best friend Molly, also a basset, around the corner and I swear he knows the difference between a basset and another breed. He plays differently with bassets then he does with other dogs. We also have Fred the Basset around the other corner from us who he is the same way with! It's funny how they just know!
Sorry for the length of the post, but just thought it was funny how I met two people who are owned by bassets within 2 days all in my area.

We send healing drool to all in need and hope and pray everyone has a great week!
Maureen
