Thanks, Rebecca for this hilarious article.  I lived it and he is 
exactly correct about most of it.  It doesn't take much to see why we 
all prefer bassets.  The line that keeps making me laugh is "orders are 
not heard, let alone obeyed".  (You can see a pic of german shepherd,
