Try adding some yogurt to his feed. As dogs (and humans!) get older, they are less able to digest foods properly. The probiotics in yogurt help. You must look for yogurt that has live, active cultures. Many do not. I use Stoneyfield organic yogurt. It is the only  kind I like, so that is what Dewey gets. I give him a blob (approx a tablespoon) every day as a snack.
