[Dailydrool] Licking

My Barney has a wart on his toe that he has started to lick raw.  Does  
anyone have a thought on what I can put on it to keep him from licking  
it?  I've tried witch hazel (he just licks it off) and Almay deodorant  
(my friend's vet tech suggested it to her for a foster she had).  That  
doesn't seem to deter him either.  However, this is a basset who  
considers rotting squirrel a delicacy and is beginning to discover the  
wonders of eating poo.
