[Dailydrool] Grocery Shopping

I did some grocery shopping today, and like usual I bring my cloth bags full
of stuff in the back door and sit them on the floor next to the freezer,
then go get more. The girls always have a wonderful time sticking their
noses in the bags and sniffing everything. Anna decided to help me unload
the bags today, which is a first. Started in from the driveway with the
second batch and as I came in the back gate, there she was out in the yard
shaking the daylights out of something. I yelled Anna, Anna and she stopped
and gave me that look, you know the one, "Oh sh** I'm busted!" So I walked
over to see what she had, it was a new bag of one of their favorite treats
and if I'd been about 30 seconds later the package would have been
completely open and Miss Piggy would have been scarfing them down. Picked
it up, told her what a good girl she was for stopping the destruction when I
yelled, and continued unloading. Anna was found out in the country trying
to survive on her own, most of the way starved and living on garbage and
road kill, so she is my eater extraordinaire. She does not plan on ever
missing another meal. We understand and it's okay. Saw the pictures of
Pearl today, the latest starved old senior that has been lucky enough to
land at Daphneyland (and Synthia's house, too). You look at her and you are
looking at my Anna about two years ago. Thank you Dawn and Synthia and
everyone who had a hand in helping Pearl this week. We will keep our paws
crossed that she has lots of time so she can eat like a piggy and sleep in a
warm, soft bed, and feel loved again. Happy Holidays to everyone, and hang
in there Pearl.
