When Waldo had his back surgery, it took almost a year for his hair to 
completely fill in again. I don't know if it's "normal" or not, but the vet 
wasn't concerned.

Been busy here with holiday company, now departed, so am behind on Drools. We 
are sending belated drool to Arnie and Opie and also Sister Daisy with her new 
Frankendog look. My neighbor has also had wonderful success with acupuncture for 
her arthritic 15 year old lab. Question: how soon does hair grow back on shaved 
areas, typically? Bo had surgery 9 months ago, for which his rump was shaved, 
and only now does it have a downy cover of light hair (but still looks shaved). 
Is that typical or just another weirdness of Bo?
 
Finally, the you-tubes of the BaRCSE puppies are adorable. I realize that I have 
never seen a basset hound puppy, believe it or not. Both of mine were full-grown 
when adopted, and there just aren't very many bassets where I live. Wow are 
those buppies cute!!! Happy New Year to all. Val, Bo, and Harley
