One suggestion is to not kiss dogs when they are curled up trying to sleep. Sometimes dogs will react this way when they are sleeping or trying to sleep. My rescue has not gone to bite but she has softly growled a few times in her life to let me know that at bedtime I need to beware. You never know, particularly with rescue's Annette in NJ=
