My understanding is that a dog or cat must be  old enough to have had two
rabies vaccinations to be allowed into the state without quarantine. A puppy
who has not had rabies vaccine must undergo quarantine for up to 120 days.

There are AKC dog shows held in Hawaii so there are obviously purebred dogs
there.
