Drool really does work!  I ended up at the vet's, just to make sure  
and ....  it was her anal glands that were full!  I would never have  
thought of that in a million years!  She wasn't even scooting!   
Anyway, she is much better now and even came up the steps without a  
problem.  Whew! is all I can say. Roll on this evening so I can get  
the bottle of wine out! My previous basset, La Pw Misty ATB, had a  
herniated disk and was paralysed for a while, so you can imagine my  
worry.

Thanks very much, again, for the drool - it worked perfectly!
