[Dailydrool] Basset Fleet

Me Lola and my brother Buddy would like to join the Fleet.  Our specialty 
is "Boarder Patrol".  WE do not like to share our yard with any other 4 legged 
creature or anything that flies.  We do not like it when those little yelling 2 
leggers come running up to our fence and just stand there and look at us.  Throw 
a ball or a toy in our yard and expect us to give it back.  Scream, yell and 
runaround when we are trying to take a beauty nap on the deck.  WE DO NOT LIKE 
THESE THINGS!  So, now we sleep with one ear open and when we hear the little 
ones outside we run to the fence and tell them to stay away.  Its a tough job 
but someone has to do it.  It keeps us on our toes.  Mommy tells us to be nice, 
but...this is OUR yard and "Basset Rules Apply", EVERYTHING IN IT IS OURS NO 
MATTER HOW IT GOT THERE!

Ellie Ann here.  If Lola and Buddy are joining I guess I better too.  Someone 
has to keep an eye on them.  I will command the post.  You know there is a 
system to it all.  As soon as they get their 

rawhide's nice and soft, start barking and they will run to the fence to keep 
all away then I run as fast as I can and that's not too fast these days and 
snatch all the rawhide's.  Place them in a circle around me and if anyone comes 
within 10 feet of them I warm them to keep back, if they proceed to take one I 
give them a louder warning.  After that Mom tell me to be nice and if I don't 
she takes them all away.  Then I lay in front of the hallway and wont let the 
others past me.  They have to stay in the living room and not go by Mommy in the 
office and lay on the couch.  If I can't have what I want they won't get what 
they want.  Also did mention we live by Lake Michigan and have our own 
lifejackets.
