[Dailydrool] Pacific Basset Feet

Whoo Hooo!! Just ordered the Houndettes uniforms! Can't wait to see them all
dressed up....although Jersey, Shadow and Suzy are still insisting that
Ginger should be in a brig prison suit! It has been too hot here lately so
the Houndettes go out for the longest amount of time first thing in the
morning and then only go outside for a very few minutes the rest of the day.
Ginger has WAY too much energy at this point and is just getting into
trouble....shredded TP (a whole roll! It looked like it had snowed in the
house!) or paper, chasing our poor old cats or just standing in front of
them and barking, counter cruising (and scoring!), making me chase her
around the house to get whatever shoe or slipper she has. The list goes on
and on. Yesterday she was literally tossing one of their dog beds around and
burying herself under it for entertainment. I expect that it's only a matter
of time before that gets shredded too. I know I'm going to jinx myself but
I'm going to say it anyway....at least she has left the furniture alone (so
far). We have a game of me throwing a ball down the hall and she will
actually run and get it and bring it to me but I think she must have ADD
because she'll only play fetch for a

very few minutes. Usually, I can give her a kong or something to chew on
when she's like this and it will work but she's been cooped up too long and
the weather people are saying that it's going to stay in the 90's here and
go into the low 100's next week. YUK! No matter how hot it gets, we may have
to go to the dog park for a few minutes just to tire Ginger out before she
destroys the house (or drives me nuts!)!



Suzy has discovered the joy having her back scratched. She especially loves
to have that spot just above where her tail starts scratched and you can
tell that it's total bliss for her when we scratch it for her. She has
gotten very creative about scratching her back herself. I keep finding her
in the bathroom under the shower curtain so it rubs across her back! It's so
funny to watch! She has also discovered that she can back up to a wall or
door jam and rub her lower back. She kind of looks like a bear against a
tree when she does it. Jersey is tall enough that she has always rubbed her
back under chairs but Suzy is a little shorter so has had to find some
alternatives.



We're all anxious to hear how Elder Clara is doing and hoping that Jasmine
is feeling better. I'm sure the no pain drool is working for Karen but I
hope the docs sent home good drugs and she uses them! The Houndettes send
healing drool to all.
