[Dailydrool] colt's assassin

colt's story this morning of that sneaky squirrel tripping his mama  
reminded me of something that happened years ago.  i was still inbed, but  awake 
one morning, laying on my stomach when i felt a weight on my leg.   more than 
half-asleep, i thought "it's the cat again."  and then i realized  I DON'T 
HAVE A CAT!!  i kicked hard and spun around and there was a  squirrel flying 
off the bed!!  i bounced out of bed, grabbed a broom and  chased him into 
the bathroom, to the open skylight.  and he jumped up to  the counter and out 
the skylight.  but as i looked around the house, i  found a huge hole in a 
screen which he had used to get IN!  i had a huge  tree that was higher than 
the 2-story house and at that particular window, the  branches were right 
next to that window, so for some reason this would-be  assassin decided he 
needed to get in!
to make this basset related, gus could never join ASTT, he looks at them  
with total indifference.  so had gus been with me at the time of the  
squirrel invasion, he might have invited him for tea!
