I too have been a victim, and I am highly allergic. The first time was when we had the windows replaced, and the guys did it assembly line fashion. Take out a a whole bunch, then put in a whole bunch, leaving a lot of exposed time with no barrier to the insect world. Next morning, I blew up like a balloon. I went to the MD, not my regular, but the first I could get an appointment with, and he drew vial after vial of blood, wanted to schedule a nickazillion tests, and was really pressing me for a colonoscopy. I said, "Hey Doc, just fix these spider bites, hands, legs and face." He said, of course,no problem, here is the script for the steroids, but you need to do all these other tests which I politely declined. I was cured, and then billed $300 for all the blood work that I did not need or want. Luckily, I was able to argue the bill away. Two years later, I was bitten again, but not so badly. I, too, show no mercy too spiders any more, and I used to catch and release all insects, but I can no longer afford to do so.
I wish I were not so allergic, but I have to stay healthy, as I have just to many to care for and about.
