[Dailydrool] just dry skin?

tonight, when giving gus his bellyrubs upon arriving home from work, i  
noticed a little red bump, kind of like a pimple or bite on his lower belly,  
just above his you-know.  then i noticed 2 or 3 others.  and then,  about an 
inch and a half away, i noticed a spot about 3/8" of what looks like  
psoriasis.  of course, i went right to the phone, called the vet and was  told to 
call in the morning for a "reserved" appt.  do you think this is  necessary? 
 or is this something i could do something about with some OTC  stuff?  
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  by the way, he isn't  
itching or anything like that, that i have noticed anyway.
