[Dailydrool] Pw Miss Pauline update

Thanks to everyone who sent me ideas to help get Pauline
interested in eating. Unfortunately, our visit to the vet yet again
yesterday did not give us good news. While Pauline's blood
work is not that horrible, her liver numbers have worsened
since the previous blood work and the vets feel that she is
in liver failure. And while that can sometimes be turned
around, Pauline is just 7 weeks shy of her 13th birthday
and has had heart issues for a while now that were being
controlled by medication. Her weight loss has been too
much too fast and the loss of energy that goes along with
that has caused further deterioration of her heart. There
are no miracles waiting in the wings this time for my
pwincess. She's been through a lot in the almost 12 years
that she's been our girl and come through it all being bossy,
pushy, beautiful Miss P. But this time the only miracle will be
that she gets to be the first one to see our sweet Dudley again.

For now we are only giving her the heart meds and the reglan
to keep her comfortable. She'll get a pain med if it's needed.
And she's getting her beloved cookies - her very favorite ones,
of course. We'll love on her and give her what she wants when
she wants it - after all, she is a pwincess. And then when the time
comes, we'll send her on her way to find Dudley and old, old
Bob who she knew for a while before he left and Chuck who had
already departed so we would find another heart dog . . .

For me, facing the loss of this sweet girl is unbearable,
especially now. But the pain and the dread I have now
for what's coming is nothing compared to the love and
the pleasure and happiness this silly, smooshy, one-eyed,
long eared, short legged, fat pawed, wiggle butt of a girlie
has brought to me and my family and anyone who knew her.

Again, thank you for all the suggestions sent to me and
perhaps posted that I haven't seen yet and all the drool
and good thoughts and prayers sent our way. I just am
not able to respond to everyone right now which is why
I'm writing this. It is appreciated more than you know.

We have so much drool here that we'll gladly forward
some of it on to anyone else in need. And if anyone is
going through a loss right now, we send sad ahrrooos
and heart healing drool. We know your pain,

Take care everyone and smooch your houndies.

Donna, drool fueler for Elmo, Pw Pauline, Gracie and
Pw Bosley
