[Dailydrool] Expensive Dogs, High Maintenance Friends, and Upgrading

Expensive Dogs.  I always joked that Barney the chocolate lab was the most expensive because his bloat surgery cost me about $34,000.  Only a couple thousand went to the vet, the other went to the Chrysler dealership for the Town & Country minivan to tote him around in after surgery. There was also that vomiting episode that put him in emergency, where they charged me over $800 to be nonconclusive, other than to tell me I had a spoiled dog. I had warned them that he did not to well apart from the pack. He got to sleep in the breakroom rather than the kennel area because he was so vocal.
 
Gigi was also expensive having gotten on the counter and eaten a full bottle of remadyl. Another emergency trip with two nights in the vetspital. The rest of her stuff I knew about when I pulled her from the shelter, that she was hearworm positive and intact. All taken care of now.
 
High Maintenance Friends. Some of you might remember my Christmas story from a couple years ago. High maintenance friend visiting, Christmas dinner with several folks over, salad got spilled, big dog fight insued over spilled salad, while cleaning up salad after breaking up fight the ham got stolen off the table, lots of flappin and wailin. SHE IS COMING FOR ANOTHER VISIT. TWELVE DAYS. This one should be easier. I am hopeful that this wretched Texas heat will wipe her out. 
 
Upgrading. Bev, were you upgrading the dogs or upgrading the husband?
