[Dailydrool] Yelling at the hounds

Fortuntely I don't have to yell at the boys very often. My two Bad Ass Bassets are fairly sensitive and respond well to just slightly raised voice and me giving them low growls, of "NNNNOOOOO" or "MMMIIIINNNNEEEE" They usually give that "are you sure" look with those big, sweet, sad eyes (like the cat in Shrek) and I growl it again and they will give the "okay then" sad look and either lay down beside me or go to the other side of the couch and lay down. Now when I do have to yell at them is when they are outside, squirrel is in full on teasing assult and they are going ape sh*t barking and bouncing around the oak & crepe myrtle trees. And usually it does not work. They might look at me for a brief second and then go right back to barking at the squirrel. So I just calmly go out with leashes and put them on them and walk them back into the house while in a calm but low growling voice say "NO BARKING". and then I make them stay in the house for 15-20 minutes...They sit at the sliding door still focused on the squirrel but not barking.
