HI All
Now that I've have recovered Let me tell you how our Fun Day for Basset Rescue of Puget Sound went. We had food, games and bassets galore. If you can believe it we had a warm sunny day in western WA. I pretty much never saw my own 3 basset all day but there was so many hounds there to support Alexa and JP you had no choice but to smile.
We had some of you standard games but one of the new ones was a story game about you naughty stories. Our winner was a basset named Clue. His slaves pulled into a parking stop in front of a sign saying "NO DOGS ON GRASS" well Clue jumped out of his owners car window right on to a police officer's feet and rolled on to the lawn. We had other great stories which caused great laughter. I love to have people smile and laugh while we play the games.
We welcome friends and families whether they have a basset or not. If they have a long legger they just need get along with the bassets. This year we had a German Short Hair Pointer that was in 7Th heaven. She would go around looking for some very playful hounds. As soon as some one would show interest she would take off in a full run with a troop of hound in hot pursuit. I could of watch that for hours if I hadn't need to run the games and raffles.
There was so many people stepped up and helped out it was amazing. It usually takes us a couple hours plus many car loads to pack up and clean up yet we had many hands and several people loaded there own cars to help transport supplies back to the storage unit or back to Alexa's house. It was amazing.
Even though Alexa's house fire was tragic. There has been so much good that has come from it. We have had great volunteers that have come out of the wood work. The items donated that helped us so much for our Fun Day, plus supplies that will be used now and as soon as she get back in to the rescue house.
Thank you everyone for your help!
