Flash was neutered at 6 months and he has valgus (twisted leg) in one front leg.  This most likely more related to the breed than the neutering.  I have seen many early neutered animals from the shelter and they seem to grow just fine.  There are all sort of statements made about early neutering but I haven't seen much hard and fast research to support those statements.  The problem that Flash has occurs when the ulna growth plate fuses early and the radius continues to grow.  This also occurs in unaltered animals and therefore has not been shown to be related to early neutering.
