[Dailydrool] eye ulcers

I have no experience with eye ulcers in bassets- or anyone else for that matter. Reading a couple of posts the last days, would it not help if the eye were closed? In humans they use a patch- in the case of bassets could they be taped closed? It just seems to me that that might bring some relief? Maybe I am totally off base with my thinking, but I would think a closed eye would have less irritation from the air etc as well as from 'blinking'.
