Things have probably changed since I hung my smock up at the Vet's, but we
used to suture the eye shut ( it is not at all what it sound like) and leave
an opening into which medication could be inserted OR give meds topically 4
or 5 times a day AND a medication (atropine) to control pain. Scraping the
eye I have never heard of and assume you have an eye specialist doing this.
I do know eye ulcers are EXTREMELY painful-- like having something in your
eye all the time--
Whenever we have cut a pad we have medicated and bandaged it, kept it dry,
usually on antibiotics.
As I said, things may have changed drastically in the past couple of
years...just my experience.

MomPerson to Nigel, Llewis, Conley & Cooper, who knows all about cut feet.
