[Dailydrool] New basset and jelious cat

My new 11 week old red basset is minding her own business eating her breakfast and the cut came by and swatted her a good one.  My basset that I lost to cancer a month ago would allow the cat to eat out of the same bowl.  Any suggestion so that Ginger my newest basset is not terrorized by this spoiled rotten cat (by my previous basset).  I have to mention that I got my cat at 8 weeks when my basset was 4
