Hi--Eugene had mild entropion as a six month old when we adopted him
and at that time the vet suggested that he might outgrow it. He's now
almost four and his left eye is tearing quite a lot. At his last vet
visit I pointed it out and the vet said that he does have mild
entropion that we should watch. He doesn't really seem bothered by it,
but his eye does tear quite a bit. I understand that surgery is the
only treatment , but in researching it it seems that there is a chance
that multiple surgeries might be needed. Just wanted to know what
others' experiences have been with entropion.

Did you do the surgery for a mild case--was a redo necessary? Also,
if any droolers have experience with eye surgeons in the northern
Chicago suburbs I'd love to hear from you. We are near an Eyecare for
Animals office.I guess my other question is whether I should take him
to an eye specialist or our regular vet if we do do the surgery.
Someone suggested to me that he could have the surgery done with a
dental and thus piggyback onto the dental anesthesia. Also, what have
been the costs for this surgery? Thanks for any information. Georgia
and Eugene
