[Dailydrool] food

If you just cut back the dogs will be relentlessly hungry and drive you
crazy. Whatever you remove from their kibble add in the form of green beans
or some other fiber-type thing. (I use green beans).
I feed Blue Buffalo non-grain except when I am hideously broke and then they
get Pro Plan for a few days. All mine are right at weight except Cooper who
tends to be about 5# over where I would like him.
I feed 3 times a day and each meal consists of 1/3rd Cup of food except for
Conley, who is younger and much more active and has a very slim build, so
twice a day he gets 2/3rds Cups.
BUT
Keep in mind that these dogs get tons of treats in a day. Every time
DadPerson takes a deep breath, they all rush to kitchen. OBOY HE'S ALIVE!
TREAT TIME!!!
So if we cut out treats, probably that would not be enough food. You have to
balance everything. In my opinion the amount is individual and simply trial
and error, but when you are dealing with overweight I would cut waaaay back
on treats and add green beans.

MomPerson to Nigel (who is a big boy) Llewis (who is perfect) Conley (who
needs to cut back maybe a smidge) and Cooper, who doesn't eat about half the
time anyway.
