[Dailydrool] Drool & Stuff

The girls are sending drool to Mr. Cooper, Copper, Riley and their
families. We've had a rough month here, but it's good to get some
perspective and realize it could be a whole lot rougher.

About 4 weeks ago, Fiona started leaking icky pussy stuff out of her
ear.  Not the usual yeasty stuff; this stuff was really nasty and made
the whole house stink. A trip to the vet and a fancy culture revealed
some really nasty bacteria, so we were referred to an ear specialist,
who performed a myrongotomy (sp?) on both ears.  That is a fancy way of
saying they popped her eardrum and cleaned out the middle ear infection.
She said it was one of the hardest clean out jobs she's ever done.
Fiona was put on ear drops and 2 different pills, one of which was
prednisone to reduce the swelling. About a week after that she developed
a UTI.  This coincided with the return of the ear cultures and the new
antibiotic is effective on both.  She is finally back to her old perky
self and her ears are looking a whole lot better, which is a huge relief
to me. Fiona goes back for a recheck on November 23rd.

I cried multiple times through this whole process and can't imagine how
all of you facing more serious issues are coping. 

On a happy note, I have decided to join the Howliday card Exchange this
year. I looked at Vistaprint one day and cards were $0.39 each.  Two
days later the price had doubled.  So I checked out Walmart and they
were $0.33 each, so I ordered them Thursday & had them Friday. And
shipping was free.

Things are definitely looking up here.
