Basset related because Mom was the greatest advocate of bassets until she developed Alzheimer's/ dementia. I have had two ER experiences with Mom. First in 12/09, and that was about a ten hour wait, and I finally had to leave from exhaustion, and it was almost the next morning they got her a room. Next time was 5/10, and again it was over 8 hours that I sat with her, and she still was not admitted. I so appreciate the medical community. I know that Mom is a difficult patient due to dementia, but I have done my diligence and watch her care carefully.
Pierre Jr. had his second class today, and he is a sharp whip. He learned "come" and "jump", and "nice Hi". He has a problem of letting those who pet him go without a nip to say pet me more, so the "nice Hi" lesson is hugely appreciated. After class, he got his double buck Burger King cheese burger w/o pickle or ketchup. Then he visited Mom and others at Assisted Living, and he was perfect. Needless to say, he is sleeping like a log right now.
We were early to class, and Pierre was allowed to explore the room where the agility stuff was set up. Right away, he wanted to travel the tunnel. He sniffed everything, and he even paused on the end of run platform. I don't think I will engage him a lot with agility because I don't want to challenge his body type for potential health hurt, but we can play a little, and I know he will love it.
Healing drool to all in need.
Peace, love and bassets,
Jackie and the herd
