Bev
A while back you posted sort of a what to do for sick dogs info. I
copied it and saved it for when/if it was needed. Well, last night that
time came. Because of your post I knew what to do for Radar who had
thrown up 5 times within 24 hours without panic. I got him to the vet
this morning and after blood work with normal levels except some
dehydration, a shot to settle his stomach and an some fluids he is back
on the mend. He apparently had a "gastric episode," and will be on
Pepcid AC from now on(store brand because apparently they don't make
this name brand any longer) and a gas X thrown in for a while. He has
always loved to eat grass but from now on, no more grass. We didn't get
much sleep last night. Also all the advice on Bloat that I have gotten
from the Drool over the years helped me watch him through the night,
listening for his burps and massaging his stomach to check for
stiffness. The vet said we followed all the right steps with him and to
keep it up. I just wanted to thank you for your post because I am
positive I would have totally lost it and not been able to care for him
properly without the information. After fasting, he is on small meals
now for the next 24 hours and so far everything is staying down. Boy I
hate it when they are sick.
Thanks again for all that you do. Nigel, Llewis, Conley and Cooper sure
are lucky to have you for their Mom.
