[Dailydrool] Lambchop

Drool needed for Lambchop.  She tried to jump the first step on steps up to our bed last night and ruptured a disk in her back.  She is almost 11.  Also blind.   She can only move around on her behind.  The vet came today and put her on predisone for two weeks and pain pills if needed.  She seems to be out of pain for now and thank god she pottied outside when we sat her on the ground.  The vet said she could get better.  If she is not better within a month, it pretty much will be the way she will stay.  We opted not to operate and we will keep her comfortable and loved for as long as she is with us.  We have had her from 8 weeks so this is in no way an easy feat.  She is a quiet dog and always has been. It will make it easier dealing with her.  In a month the vet said she could get a cart.  I am going to do this so she can get around a bit with the other dogs.  In the meantime,  she is confined to my family room.  Since I only work partime,  the vet feels it is not an issue in taking care of her because she will sleep most of the time I am gone.  Please send drool her way.   A special thank you to Bob and Kathy Nali for talking to me and informing me of what happens with this sort of injury.  Great people who I really appreciate. Thanks again.  I will keep everyone updated on her progress.
