[Dailydrool] Miss Angela is vigilant

Bill here, press agent/personal trainer to Miss Angela Basset,
Droop and Drool Diva to Wichita and Sedgwick County.

School is in session again at the community college where I 
teach a bit, so Miss Angela is back at Doggy Day Care.  Both 
of my classes are at 12:30 and last for 3 hours, so I drop Miss
Angela off at Day Camp (that's what we call it)  around 11:30 
and pick her up about 4 hours later.  It is right on my way to 
class and she loves it there.  The folks are really nice.  Once a 
month, she has a spa day at the same facility.  This will be our
routine for the fall semester.  Angela gets lots of exercise trying
to direct activities of all the other dogs.  Some days, she chooses
to go in with the big dogs and runs along behind them, barking
orders or at least suggestions.  Olive, a weimeraner who 
belongs to my dean, is one of her playmates.  The only down 
side of going with the big dogs is that their usual water dish is
a five gallon bucket.  That is well and good for tall dogs, but Miss
Angela goes thirsty unless they remember to put out a smaller
water dish.  Of course, the other dogs will sometimes walk through
that dish.   Other days, she plays with the small dogs, trying to 
direct amateur theatrics in a higher octave.  

At home, Angela has become ever-vigilant (during her waking
hours).  Our yard has become a playground for cottontailiban.
They will frolic in the front yard even if Angie is on the porch.  She 
watches them with an eagle eye, but seldom tries to intercept
their infiltration or disturb their commisary activities.  Only very 
rarely does she attempt any aggressive action.  She has the same
watchful waiting attitude toward the squirrelistas.  As the weather
gets cooler, she will also have to prowl the interior for micenaries.

When is it going to get cool out here on the plains.  We expect to 
break our record of 50 days over 100 degrees this week.  Angie
and I spend a lot of time hunkering on the couch, me reading and
the diva getting her beauty sleep.  Ah...nap time.
