[Dailydrool] Bellybands and getting mad

On the bellybands~ unless someone figures out how to put one on a slinky and then gets it to stay in place when the slinky slinks...THEN we will have one that stays put on a basset. Over the last 3 1/2 years I have tried everything just short of duct taping it on to try to keep them in place. Not happening. I just wipe and clean pee up a lot.
I totally related to Bev's post when she got a little upset and finally just put Nigel in the yard ( where he found he COULD GO in his wheels). While Elvis is the sweetest gentlest and un-neediest hound ever- it can get very frustrating when he pees on the bed that I've just put the cover back on for the nickzillionth time. Or he poops all over the floors that are still damp from washing. Or he whines and whines and WHINES... I remember at an event late this summer, I was trying to get him back to our hotel room. He wanted to go that-a-way... and I wanted him this-a-way. The girls were on leashes in my other hand and I got angry and yelled at him. A fellow drooler looked at me like I had just sprouted horns on my head... I still feel bad about it- but have never claimed to be a saint. I love him, but sometimes he can stretch my last nerve just a wee bit too far.
So go and kiss your babies for an extra bit when you have the chance- it'll make up for those times when patience leaves your side.
