Bill here, press agent/personal trainer to Miss Angela Basset,
Droop and Drool Diva of Wichita and Sedgwick County

Angela and I have been working hard to get ready for the big
holidays. I strung the lights on the front porch while Miss Angela
dozed peacefully in the front yard on her tether. I put up and
decorated a tree in the library while Angie snored peacefully
beside a pile of books displaced by the tree. I put up our mantle
decorations and stockings (courtesy of the 'Tana Girls) to the
gentle tunes of the Diva snuffling to visions of sugarbones running
through her dreams. When I wrapped gifts yesterday morning,
my petite flower dozed peacefully amidst a pile of paper scraps,
ribbon ends and loose bows. It truly is a season of peace here.

However, when my niece and her fiance came in from Tel Aviv,
Miss Angela became highly vocal. She wriggled and pranced,
expecting some kind of Hannukah gelt. And when I fried up a
few latkes, she seemed absolutely transported. I think Miss
Angela may be Jewish! To think a dog born in Oklahoma would
be so vociferously devout ! Even a tiny dredel kept her enthralled
for a while as it whirled on the floor tiles.

Now, as the temperature huddles around 30 degrees, Angela
is back to snoring peacefully on the couch. For us, life is good.
We send Christmas, Hannukah, solstice and Saturnalia wishes
to all our friends on the Daily Drool and tons of ham-induced
drool (that's right, she doesn't keep kosher) to those in need. As
the days get longer, we hope that everyone takes time to revel
in friends, family and food.

Bill (Hoping to keep holiday weight gain under four pounds)
Angela (Hoping to eat at least four pounds, vet lady be damned)
