[Dailydrool] Help for Daisy

I am writing to ask for advice for my friend Joe, whose dog Daisy is sick.
She quit eating earlier this week so she got to take a trip to the vet.
The vet said her blood sugar is off the charts high, but it's not
diabetes. They think it may be her thyroid, but they say the only options
are A: a $4,000 surgery which MIGHT help, and which Joe has already opted
against due to Daisy's age (she's 12), or B: make her comfortable, and we
all know what that means. On their way home from the vet, Joe bought Daisy
a cheeseburger, which she did eat. Now, I believe that the show isn't over
until it's OVER and I know if anybody is going to have some good advice,
it's my Droolers. I can't believe that these are the only two options. I
sent Joe a list of dog friendly people food he might try, including boiled
chicken. Does anyone have any other ideas or has anyone experienced this
with their own dogs? Are there any homeopathic treatments Joe might try?
Any advice would be welcome at this point.
Thanks, Droolers!!
