[Dailydrool] love the drool

Hi-- I'm relatively new to the drool also, having discovered it shortly after Eugene landed in our lives about 4.5 years ago. Although I considered myself a dog person, I wasn't yet a basset-person and the discovery of the drool felt like finding a great support group where I knew I wasn't totally crazy for putting up with the antics of our donkey-dog!!!  I also purchased and loved You Had Me At Ahroo which was a great crash course in the posts of some of the original droolers. One of the first emails I personally received  was from Bev who wrote to me comically about the joys of owning a basset in response to my post  in which I compared Eugene ( not positively I admit!!)   to my beloved poodle. She also was an invaluable help with Eugene's entropion surgery.  Her stories and  many others' have continued to amuse and delight both me and my husband and daughters with whom I share them. We have loved all four of the DD calendars in which Eugene has appeared and are so thankful for the tireless work of Ellie in putting it out and also the work of the mods in getting the DD into our homes with such regularity. A big THANK YOU to you all . I agree that these are the good NEW days on the drool and I wouldn't miss it for the world. Georgia and Eugene
