Hi All
I wanted to just wish everyone a great New Year full of adventures and memories.
I want to send out and apologize to everyone on Howliday card exchange short
list 1. My card came out fuzzy I have no clue what I did since I'm not
overly computer savvy. I usually have a friend help me but this year I felt
over confident and it back fired on me. I would like to offer if any one on
short list 1 would like a better card just email privately.
Up date on Old man Gus. He is status que. We are still seeing the Holistic Vet
and he receives a remedy for Canine Cognitive Disorder once a week or
so. Right now he is doing his afternoon laps around my dinning room table. His
day consists sleeping, peeing, eating, sleeping, wandering, sleeping, peeing,
and somewhere in there would be a poop. On his good days he is bright and very
in tune with the house activity.
I am spending more time picking up after him but its what it is for right now.
His over all health is not to bad for his 16yr old body. Back legs are stiff and
weak but still motor him around to his hearts content. His nose still works and
his mind might be slow so the two things together make for an interesting
feeding times. He barks for his meals I show him his food I place it on his spot
yet he is still sniffing and barking in the air where I first put the dish under
his nose. I have to tap him on his head and direct in to the food, everyday its
like a new discovery for him. Gus has a great appetite and does not miss a meal.
When the weather here in Seattle is above 45 I still take the gang to the dog
park. Gus is still in 7th heaven when we go to the park. His nose is to the
ground and he pretty much walks around in a small area so I'm able to take the
other two for laps around the park checking on him every few minutes. We only
stay about 15 to 20min any longer he get too tired. Weather here right now is in
the low 30's and I know he would love to get out in the sun and go to the park
but the cold is so hard on his body.
I'm blessed for everyday he is still with me. For a basset that came to me at
the age of 7, I thought if his is with me till he is 12 I was blessed. He has
proving me wrong, he need to stay with me longer to teach me lessons of
understanding, compassion and unconditional love.
Thank you Drool family for support and kindness.
We here at the Crawford house hold are sending our love, prayers and healing
drool to all that need it.
