I'm crossing my paws this comes out right. I think it is awesome Droolers are banding together to help a basset rescue win money for their rescue. There are some rescues withdrawing to allow to those struggling rescues a chance. All rescues have emergencies, and throughout the year Droolers are the most giving, supporting people ever. Droolers participate in rescue's fundraisers - their life blood.

The Challenge money comes from the Animal Rescue Site and Petfinders. So the only thing Droolers need to do is click on the site daily.

Some of the comments I've heard:

There are many rescues that could use the money to catch up on vet bills.

There are rescues that need foster homes in order to take in more bassets.

There are rescues in states where winning might not be obtainable, even with our mighty power.

As Chris stated there are states where the obstacle of organized cheaters for big shelters exist.

There are states with a number of rescues, would the other rescues in that state feel slighted.

If we're to put it to a "straight" nominate vote, some state have more Droolers than others.

Some rescue directors are regular Droolers, some directors you rarely hear from.

Some rescues adopt many bassets, some only a few.

Someone commented that some of the basset rescues on the list are no longer active.

For the Rescue to be eligible, they must have been a Petfinder member at the start of the Challenge.

If we put all rescues name in a hat and drew one, would they be Petfinder eligible; do they need the grant, are they still active, could they win against some of the items mentioned above.

All rescues Mission Statement, at it basics, is to take in abandoned bassets and place them in forever homes.

So how do decide?
