I would also like to Vote for Looziana Basset Rescue.  Leslie Wallace does a tremendous job helping houds in an area where pets are mosty considered disposable.  She weathered Katrina, and almost was forced to shut down due to funding and volunteer issues.  However, she has stayed the course.  She takes less animals in now, but she ends up with some severely injured animals and ones that are very ill or abused.  She will probably have little legitimate conmpetition from Louisiana and she is very deserving.  LBR is a member of Petfinder and would be very deserving of this.
