Marlene, The boys are sending special chicken jerky healing drool to
help you get back on your feet and taking care of your hounds properly.
Ruger has put an Express delivery into the brown truck folks to have
them delivery you a new pea brain.  LOL

I have a leather couch and the loveseat is a micro suede with a
slipcover on it (I actually have 2 covers to switch out to be able to
wash) The boys love lounging on the couch & loveseat.  Ruger has his day
perch on the couch, which is where he likes to sit during the daylight
hours to lookout the big picture window to keep an eye on his backyard
to ensure that the evil squirrels and other varmints are not attempting
to invade his compound.  At night there is nothing better than sitting
on the couch to watch TV with 1 to 2 hounds laying in your lap, while
you stroke those soft velvet ears, or rub those little pointy
heads....Life is good!  I wonder what the poor people or doing?  My
recommendation for anyone buying furniture with bassets or any house
dogs for that matter, is to buy good quality leather furniture.  When
the DH & I were married I gave my old leather couch & loveseat to my
neighbor who has 3 mixed breed rescues, and we brought the DH's new
leather couch & micro suede loveseat in & covered the loveseat.  It was
funny at first...Ruger was not happy with the new furniture, It took him
about a week before he figured out that he could make it work,
Especially when we use the recliner features on the couch and now there
is more hound lounging room on the couch.  LOL  My neighbor still has my
old leather couch & loveseat (Took mine to replace her old fabric couch
& loveseat) and it is holding up very well to the dogs. No holes from
toe bone punctures or anything.
