[Dailydrool] knee/ligament issues

Radar is recovering now from a sprained knee and strained ligaments. He
loves to run, jump and generally tear around inside and outside with his
Bloodhound sister. Somehow he injured himself. I noticed a limp Monday
morning that traveled from his rear left to his front right. Got him
into the vet and after they evaluated his gait outside and 3 radiographs
later that is what they found.
He is on 45 days of crate rest of which we are on day 10 (after 4 days
he was over this!) He loves his crate though so that's not an issue.
No stairs, no jumping...we are lifting him everywhere. He just wants to
play and so does his sister. I use a holistic vet so he is on a
tendon/ligament herbal and Glycoflex Stage 3 as well. He's had 2
acupuncture treatments and a cold laser therapy with 2 more acupuncture
treatments to go. He saw his doctor yesterday and I was told he was
healing nicely but to stay with the crate rest, did I mention it is
hard, because he still needs the healing time.
So, long story short...there are other possible alternatives to surgery
if the knee/ligaments aren't a total blow out. From what I've read
there's only a 50/50 chance with the surgery anyhow and the other knee
will need it as well.
Just my two cents and what we are now going through. Good luck
