Regarding the questions raised about Tripod.  I am not in the position to
comment on the facts related to this specific dog, but I can offer how BROOD
works with shelters in our six-state area.   For BROOD, we want to see a dog
go to a qualified adoptive home rather than take the hound into our rescue
and put the dog into a kennel or foster home and then look for an adopter.
We have stepped aside when a  shelter has found an adopter for the
hound-even though we have already been contacted and even made arrangements
to pick-up the hound.  A local adoption from the shelter is a victory in our
eyes and allows us to rescue another hound from a shelter.
